When you take your time to do things that need to be done and you have excessive delays, you may be a procrastinator. Are you always late and missing deadlines? These are a few traits. If you want to find out more here are a few reasons why people procrastinate.
To make you alert to the fact of what procrastination is and to help improve your habits, here are a few suggestions. If you understand what procrastination is, you may be able to correct if for a more reliable image and to help reduce stress that procrastination causes.
One of the reasons that causes procrastination is the inability to stay organized which causes a lacking in being prepared. When things you have to do aren't organized, responsibilities remain in a pending state. Eventually they build up. Sometimes it is hard to get the energy going, leading to an incomplete or late finish.
If you are on a schedule and are discussing a meeting or items to address and you don't commit to a specific timeframe or timeline, this is a sign. Delaying the task at hand is a sign.
If you are in a situation that you don't feel you can handle, due to a lack of confidence in your abilities, you may tend to avoid or put it off. Performing things at the last minute when you have had plenty of time to finish them, is a sign you are procrastinating. Poor working habits develop and just wanting to focus in another direction is a sign.
When you are indecisive, you are putting another task off. That's another sign. Sometimes when things are overwhelming to you, you prolong the inevitable. Take time, make a list. Stick to the plan to avoid reasons why people procrastinate, even you.
