Paul Sack holds an A.B. magna cum laude from Harvard University, an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley.
With the exception of seven years as a department store executive in the 1950’s and four years on the Peace Corps staff in the 1960’s, Mr. Sack has spent his entire career in real estate. He founded The Paul Sack Properties in 1958 and subsequently formed 13 partnerships for the ownership, development or acquisition of multifamily residential properties, including rental apartments, for-sale condominiums and land for homebuilders.
Mr. Sack was the founder of The RREEF Funds, which currently manages over $60 billion of real estate, chiefly for pension funds, through offices across the United States and around the world. Now retired from RREEF, he has returned to participation in acquisition and property management in an advisory role.
Mr. Sack has served on the boards of BRIDGE Housing Corporation, Golden West Financial Corporation, and a number of nonprofit philanthropic organizations. He is also a former trustee and regional vice president of the International Council of Shopping Centers. He is a former trustee of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and is an emeritus trustee of the San Francisco Art Institute.
