“With as busy as the world is today, it’s easy to become overwhelmed. The demand for our attention keeps growing everyday, however we still only have 24 hours to accomplish everything that we feel needs to get done. The key is learning to balance our time so we can find more meaning and happiness in each day.
I remember when I talked to Alan Mulally,he was in Boeing before he went to Ford. He drew four circles, Family Life, personal Life, Work Life, Spiritual Life. He said, 'If I am not staying in the center in balancing it, then I don't find as much meaning, I have to schdule it so I make my work calendar available to my family, so that they can set up lunch with Dad, or date with my wife" So he says I set up these dates with my family as the same calendar as work, so that it shows up as the same priority. If I have two different calendars, then my work calendar will always dominate. But by combining it, I have have a way of managing myself a little bit more sanely.
