    Avoiding the AMT Trap

More and more taxpayers are finding a hidden tax on their individual tax returns. The alternative minimum tax (AMT) attempts to ensure that high income individuals who benefit from the tax advantages of certain deductions and exemptions will pay at least a minimum amount of tax.

Deducting the Cost of Your MBA Degree

Attention engineers!! You may be able to deduct the cost of your tuition spent for your MBA degree. In order to do so you must connect your MBA degree with a business purpose and it cannot qualify you for a new line of work.

    2008 Annual Financial Planning Limits

This series of charts lays out the financial planning limits for 2008. They include tables for traditional and Roth IRAs, Employer Retirement Plans, and Federal Income Taxes, among others.

    GROCO Helps Kids in Reading
Greenstein Rogoff Olsen & Co. (GROCO) is proud to be one of the 500 business partners sponsoring this year's Book Buck$, a non-profit program that benefits more than 65,000 Tri-City students and families. The week-long program started March 10 and allows students to receive free copies of a local newspaper, The Argus, in their classroom. By reading the newspaper, students earn play money which they are free to spend at hosting local businesses. As a benefactor, GROCO will enable 5,000 students to participate.
