CERTIFICATION
Jeff Faust is one of only a handful in the Bay Area to earn Accredited Valuation
Analyst designation from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

June 7, 2007 – Greenstein Rogoff Olsen & Co. LLP, one of the Bay Area’s
top CPA firms, is proud to announce that
Jeff Faust, Director of Business Valuations,
has earned the professional designation Accredited Valuation Analyst (AVA) granted
by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). Jeff has been
providing business valuation services to the firm’s clients since he joined his
practice with Greenstein Rogoff Olsen & Co. in March of 2006. This NACVA professional
designation validates the significance of Jeff’s contribution to the firm and gives
potential clients additional confidence in the world-class business valuation services
being provided.
In line with passing the bar or becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), this
achievement is the result of many years of hard work. In his announcement, NACVA
President and CEO, Parnell Black, MBA, CPA, CVA, noted, “The designation is an indication
to the business, professional, and legal communities that Jeff has met NACVA’s rigorous
standards of professionalism, expertise, objectivity and integrity in the field
of Business Valuation, Litigation Support and related consulting disciplines.”
 As
an AVA candidate, Jeff had to first complete a rigorous week long training course
and pass the 4 hour examination, which includes sections on Ethics, Valuation Standards,
Valuation Theory and Valuation Case Law. In addition to the exam, Jeff had to complete
a 50-hour in-office case study and submit a complete business valuation report,
which determined if his work met NACVA’s professional criteria. Having met the necessary
requirements, including a minimum of two years experience in Business Valuations
and the attainment of a business degree from an accredited university, Jeff was
also required to demonstrate his knowledge in accounting fundamentals and forensic
accounting concepts, furnish professional and personal references and be subject
to credit and background investigations.
The valuations Jeff provides include Estate/Gift Tax, Family Limited Partnerships
(FLPs), Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), Stock Options (409a and 123R), Corporate
Planning and Transactions. He has been involved in hundreds of transactions and
has played key roles in the structuring of management buyout programs, management
transition programs, stock option plans, and ESOPs. In addition to valuations, Jeff
provides stock option administration and consulting services to the firm’s already
comprehensive business consulting division.
AVA accredited appraisers are recognized as experts in the valuation field and Jeff
is one of only a handful of business valuation analysts in the Bay Area to achieve
the coveted accreditation.
