This comes on the heels of Inc Magazine and the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal recognizing GROCO as one of the fastest growing companies in the United States and the Bay Area, respectfully. On September 24th, BizWorld, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating children about entrepreneurism and fiscal responsibility, recognized GROCO Partner, Steve Singer, with their “Best in Show” award.

The Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal's annual Fastest-Growing Private Companies list is ranked by percentage change in net revenue from 2007-2009. Revenue will be published if the company lands among the top fastest-growing companies. To be considered for this list, companies must: 1. Maintain headquarters in Silicon Valley defined by the Business Journal to include Santa Clara County and Fremont. 2. Be an independent, privately held corporation, proprietorship or partnership (not a subsidiary or a division) through the end of the most recent fiscal year. 3. Have a three-year sales history with an increase in FYE 2009 over FYE 2007. 4. Have had sales of more than $200,000 in fiscal year 2007 and been in business throughout the entire fiscal year 2007. 5. Provide all information requested on the application, including verification documents.
The Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2006 through 2009. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the first week of 2005, and therefore able to show four full calendar years of sales. Additionally, they have to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent – not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies – as of December 31, 2009. Revenue in 2006 must have been at least $200,000 and revenue in 2009 must have been at least $2 million. The top 10 percent of companies on the list comprise the Inc. 500, now in its 28th year.
