 AFTON, Wyoming, August 5, 2010 - Greenstein, Rogoff, Olsen and Co. LLP, CPAs recently sponsored the 2nd Annual Rocky Mountain Economic Summit and Retreat in Star Valley, Wyoming. The event consisted of a two day conference that brought business owners from across the nation together to discuss our country’s current economic condition.
David R. Kotok, Co-founder of Cumberland Advisors, William Poole, 11th President of Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and John Silvia, Chief Economist for Wells Fargo were featured speakers at the event. Each speaker stressed the importance of staying on top of the financial ecosystem that currently entangles our economy. “There are two ways out,” said Kotok referring to our country’s current economic condition, “and neither is desirable.”
Alan Olsen, Managing Partner of Greenstein, Rogoff, Olsen and Co. said of the event, “The speakers presented an interesting perspective on the state of the economy”. Founding Partner, Morey Greenstein also attended and enjoyed the Economic Summit.
Speakers at the conference discussed current unemployment statistics as well as the outlook for the nation’s future economic condition. “If I do my accounting right, the US government is bankrupt” remarked one of the speakers.
Participants saw the Economic Summit as a success in its second year. “This is a valuable event that is encouraging many to move forward despite economic hardships.” Olsen looks forward to future Economic Summits in coming years.
