Firm Administrator / HR Director

Greenstein, Rogoff, Olsen & Co. is seeking a Firm Administrator / HR Director for our Fremont office. This position is responsible for ensuring that the firm has well-qualified and highly-motivated staff at all levels. This is done by assisting in recruiting both entry level and experienced staff of the highest quality and by developing HR policies programs that make the client an attractive employer and that ensures the staff knows what is expected. It is also accomplished through ongoing consultation with directors and staff to ensure a culture of performance, teamwork, recognition, learning and work/life balance is achieved.

Reporting

Reports directly to Managing Partner

Responsibilities Include

  • Recruitment: Management of the selection and hiring process including sourcing of candidates both entry level and experienced, screening resumes, co-ordinate the interview process and interview candidates, liaison with accounting societies and co-ordinate the recruiting process with colleges, reference and background checking, development of an offer in consultation with the director responsible for recruiting or Personnel Committee. Ensure that a comprehensive, practical and welcoming orientation program is carried out for all levels of new employees. Develop and maintain liaison with recruiters and professors on campus.
  • Performance Management: Ensure all employees understand what is expected of them and how they are performing, including performance evaluation process, specific action plans when performance does not meet expectations, feedback and appraisal training for staff and directors.
  • Compensation: Management of salary compensation program for all staff including policy development through the Personnel Committee, recommendations to the Personnel Committee re annual salary increases, salary surveys to establish competitive position, and participation in the directors meeting regarding staff compensation discussions.
  • Employee Relations and Retention: Maintain an open door and problem resolution process that keeps senior staff in control of their employee relations issues, is focused on performance considerations and guarantees employees fair and consistent treatment Develop programs to ensure that staff are utilized properly. Develop mentoring program, participate on a "Fun" committee, and promote firm culture.
  • Human Resource Planning: Ensure that we have a talent pool of qualified and interested staff capable of more advanced responsibility including partnership. Identify high potential individuals. Maintain knowledge in both state and federal employment law rules and regulations. Make recommendations to the Personnel Committee regarding changes to the employee handbook. Liaison with attorneys and other advisors regarding personnel issues. Maintain all personnel files.
  • Benefits Planning: Develop and manage benefits plans to ensure appropriate coverage, competitiveness, affordability for both the firm and the employee and efficient administration. Develop and maintain knowledge of FMLA, Workers Comp, Disability and other state and federal government programs.
  • Career Development: Develop and manage a Professional Development Plan program for professional staff, meet regularly with the staff to understand their career goals and concerns and ensure that professional development goals are communicated with the Personnel Committee.
  • Personnel Committee: Participate in Personnel Committee meetings.
  • Consultation: Consultation and research provided to the directors as required.
  • Training Program: With the director responsible for training, assist in the coordination of the professional training program for staff, conduct the new hire orientation, monitor CPE requirements and maintain CPE records.
  • Administrative: Manage other administrative responsibilities as directed by the Managing Partner.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • 5+ years HR professional recruiting experience in an accounting firm or financial services organization
  • HR Financial/Accounting Experience
  • HR Banking Background
  • HR Professional Recruiting (only)
  • HR candidates in other industries WILL NOT be considered for this position.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain staff, develop HR strategy, execute through appropriate HR programs and consult broadly throughout an organization to achieve a high-performing and highly-motivated workforce.
  • University education with preference given for professional training/certification in the Human Resources field.
